About this tool

Instead of trusting whatever your mouse software reports, this tool measures your sensor's real-world CPI by counting actual reported movement while you drag along a physical ruler for a set distance, then computing counts-per-inch directly.

You set the configured DPI (for comparison), a ruler distance (1–8 inches), and a movement direction (horizontal, vertical, or auto), then drag in a straight line — the tool tallies movementX/Y deltas and divides by the physical distance to compute measured DPI, plus rounds to the nearest 50-step for a clean comparison figure. Results from up to five runs are logged and averaged, since single-run measurements are sensitive to hand steadiness.

Why mouse testing testing matters
